The London War Resister Support Group exists as a grass roots chapter of the national War Resister Support Campaign. Our mission is to support the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who choose to lay down arms rather than participate in the illegal occupation and war against the Iraqi people. We fully support the War Resisters by assisting in material support, legal aid, and lobbying the government to allow these individuals of conscience sanctuary in Canada, rather than being deported and persecuted in the United States.

Amnesty International Supports the WRSC

The War Resister Support Campaign is continuing to gain broad support across Canada. Amnesty International issued a statement in support on June 25th, as well as Liberal MP Maurizio Bevilacqua, NDP MP Olivia Chow, and Bloc Québécois MP Thierry St-Cyr.

Vancouver/CNW - Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) has today told war resister Robin Long
they intend to deport him as early as next Monday. This was a shocking revelation to Mr. Long and his
counsel. At what was expected to be a routine detention hearing, it was revealed that a negative
decision had been issued on his Pre-Removal Risk Assessment in early May; however, it was never
communicated to either Long or his lawyer.
