Support Resisters facing deportation: letters needed!

The minority Harper government continues to try to enforce deportation orders against U.S. Iraq war resisters, despite clear direction from Parliament and the will of the majority of Canadians to LET THEM STAY.

The since the NDP, Liberal and Bloc MPs are already on-side, we need to drive home our message to the federal Conservative Caucus and particularly:

Hon. Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism
(Calgary Southeast, AB);

Rick Dykstra, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Citizenship,
Immigration and Multiculturalism
(St. Catharines, ON); and

Right Hon. Stephen Harper, Prime Minister
(Calgary Southwest, AB).

The 3 main points to cover are:

#1: Prime Minister Harper admitted during the last election that the Iraq war was "absolutely an error". U.S. Was resisters should not be deported to be punished by George Bush for refusing to participate in this illegal war, just like Canada did.

#2: Our elected representatives have already voted on this and Parliament directed our government to immediately stop the deportations of all war resisters and implement a program to let the apply to be permanent residents. "I'm part of the majority of Canadians who supports this. It's been more than six months since the June vote and it's time for the Minister Kenney to act to follow Parliament's direction.

#3: All the war resisters want is fairness. Since it seems like the federal government has taken the bizarre position that conscientious objectors don't deserve due process, Minister Kenney and Prime Minister Harper should at least grant a moratorium on deporations until all of the war resisters' court appeals have been completed.
